Vegas Roots Community Garden is a nonprofit organization based in Las Vegas, Nevada. It was founded in 2009 with the goal of creating a sustainable food source for the community and promoting sustainable living practices. The organization operates a community garden in the heart of Las Vegas, where members of the community can come to grow their own fruits and vegetables, learn about sustainable living practices, and connect with others in the community. The garden is open to the public and offers a number of programs and activities, including gardening workshops, cooking classes, and events for the community. In addition to its community garden, Vegas Roots Community Garden also operates a number of programs designed to promote sustainable living and food security in the community. These programs include a food recovery program, which works to rescue excess food from local restaurants and other sources, and distribute it to those in need, and a community supported agriculture (CSA) program, which allows members of the community to purchase a share of the garden’s produce and receive a weekly delivery of fresh, locally grown produce. Vegas Roots Community Garden is committed to building a more sustainable and equitable food system in the Las Vegas community, and to providing opportunities for people to connect with nature, learn about sustainable living practices, and grow their own food.
